Greetings from St. Michael Parish and Welcome to our web site
I’m Father John Frost, the pastor of St. Michael. I came here in July of 2010. We are a parish of over 600 families with a mix of all ages. As a result, we regularly celebrate baptisms, weddings, and funerals. We work with the other five Catholic parishes in the county to support Shelby County Catholic School (a Pre-K through Grade 6 school). The school building is here at St. Michael's. We have a Faith Formation program for the youth (Grades 1-12) of the parish who do not attend the Catholic school. We are located in Harlan, which is in west central Iowa. Harlan is a county seat with about 5000 residents. We are 10 miles north of Interstate 80 on US 59.
If you want to stop by to visit—especially if you are passing through on vacation—follow US 59 to the four-way stop at the south edge of town. Go one block more and turn right at the Pizza Hut (Lincoln Street) and continue to College Place. Turn left and you are here!
We would be happy to have you stop by.
Have a blessed day!
